Hi all
Next Monday, December 6th meeting is from 12 - 2 at the Catalina Vista in an "Open Mic" format. I've got about 6 names now but if you would like to share a 10 minute story to the membership, email me. Please be considerate and not too graphic as some members are still sensitive to their combat experience.
Happy Hour Meet & Greet Friday, Dec 10, 3:30 at the Views.
I've been receiving photos from members during their time in the service. Please join the 64 members and growing number on our website by sending me one of yourself.
Join us Saturday, December 18th to lay wreaths on gravesites at the Marana Veterans Cemetery. Meet at the Activity Center, Saturday at 9AM to carpool. Wreath laying begins at 10. Need as many volunteers as necessary. Lunch at "The Feedlot" near the cemetery afterwards.
232 Legacy Bricks have been ordered and the Legacy walkway will be installed Dec 13. I'm accepting order forms for the Phase 2 section of the walkway. Installation TBD.
For consideration: The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit is what is referred to as a nonrefundable income tax credit. This tax credit is a two-fold deal with credits available for Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCOs). The maximum allowable limit for the dollar-for-dollar tax credit match for a QCO is $400 for an individual and $800 for married filing jointly. Married filing separately and heads of households filers also have $400 limits each.
Fill out the tax form to claim your credit or credits corresponding to the type of donation. Specifically, Arizona Form 321 is used for donations to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. Some Arizona Veteran Organizations are: US Vets Phoenix, Save the Family, Moving Vets Ahead
VA Clinic on Thorneydale and Linda Vista will not be open until sometime December. Sent by fellow member
*****Heads up for late January early February. The Veterans Club will be featured on the cover of the November 2022 Tipster. Installation of the "Legacy Walkway" bricks begins December 13th. Looking for over 100 Veterans (whether you are an active member or not) to stand along the "Legacy Walkway" for a photo shoot. We will be featured because the club raised over $18,000 for SCOV clubs, the Association and Veterans organizations. As the date gets closer, I will let everyone know specific date and time. I appreciate your support in advance.
US Army retaliates for massacre at Little Bighorn Nov 1876
Air Force helicopter rescues Special Forces team Nov 1968

As always, thank you for your service.
