Hi all 1-2
I hope you all had a happy holiday with hopes this year will be significantly better than last. It can't get any worse. Reminder only SCOV residents may attend meetings at this time.
Next Veterans club meeting is on Monday, Jan 4th at 1pm in the Activity Center Auditorium. Guest speaker Jon Helminiak, an SCOV resident, will review with a power point presentation, his participation of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when he was the lead pilot of 15 C-47 aircraft that flew from the US to France. I hope you will attend.
Veterans Club candidates for 2021 open leadership positions. Since there is only 1 candidate for each position, they will be voted on and approved at the January meeting. If you oppose of any candidate, or want to nominate yourself for a position, please let me know.
VP - Ian Friedlander
Treasurer - Larry Webster
Secretary - Tom Bethea
Still time to order for 2021 "Wreaths Across America" campaign. Buy a wreath before Jan 15 and "Wreaths Across America" will buy one (2 for 1 deal) to the Veterans Cemetery in Marana. Scroll down to Wreath-Matching Campaign to sponsor a wreath for 2021. You can also volunteer to lay wreaths on Dec 18, 2021 on the same website.
George Washington crosses the Delaware River Dec 25, 1776
Timeline for the "Pledge of Allegiance"
I would like to get approval for a Veterans & First Responders walkway to raise money and donate all of it to Veterans organization. Memorial bricks would be laid on the dirt path to the left of the Catalina Vista that leads around to the patio. Lasting legacy for us and future residents of SCOV.
What do you think? Would you support and buy a brick for yourself or someone else?
4"x 8" brick (3 lines) $100.
8"x8" brick (6 lines) $200.
As always thank you for your service
