Hi all
Oct 2 Club Minutes
Next "Meet & Greet" is Wednesday, Nov 1 at the Views Restaurant at 3:30pm. Joins us for friendship and comradery.
Next club meeting is Monday, Nov 6 with guest speaker Ken Rosburg talking about the F-4 Wild Weasel.
Plan on joining us on Friday, Nov 10th at 11AM for the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Catalina Vista. Guests will be 3 WWII Veterans.
Start planning for the "Open Mic Potluck Luncheon" on Sunday, Dec 3 at 11AM in the Catalina Vista. The Marana & Sunflower Clubs will be joining us. Let me know if you want to share an anecdotal or funny story from your time in the military at the meeting. Please keep it under 5 minutes and non-violent or graphic.
Start thinking about your 2023 taxes. Consider donating to an Arizona Veteran Qualified Charity Organization (QCO), (complete list) with a small part of your 2023 IRA distribution. This donation will save you taxable federal income from your IRA distribution and reduce, dollar for dollar, Arizona state tax liability. This is a win-win scenario. Donation limits for filing single is $421, and $841 for married. Talk to your tax advisor and have them make the distribution amount to the QCO, (you mail the check to the QCO) to avoid paying federal tax on that amount. Once you make the donation to the QCO, they will send you information and donation amount to allow you take the deduction on your AZ tax forms. Call me if you have any questions. Here is a list of a few Arizona Veteran organizations that you can donate to:
20069 – AZ Disabled Veteran Foundation
21042 – Fisher of Men for Veterans
22353 – Healing AZ Veterans
22011 – Southern AZ Justice for Veterans
