Hi all
Guy Peabody, our guest speaker for Feb 1st, had an unexpected conflict and can't attend our next meeting.
I've contacted Art Mesa, a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) from the DAV on Ina Rd to attend our meeting. He and another DAV officer will explain what can be claimed as a disability for a tax free compensation and how to file the VA claim form.
Below are copies of 4 items from my last email on how important a VSO can be. Fill out, online and print, the VA claims form from our website, as linked below, and bring it with a copy of your DD214, to the Feb 1st meeting. Art can review and assist in filing your VA claim.
1. Youtube video on why your percentage of VA disability matters, retirement & more. Great information. Look for other informative videos on Youtube by searching "theSITREP". There are currently 5 episodes.
2. Article in the VFW magazine on how the "Veteran Service Officer" can assist in obtaining VA compensation. They've recovered $9.7B last year for 550,000 veterans.
3. VA Claims form from our website with Youtube tutorial on how to fill it out.
4. One of our members just called me. Joe Shambo helped him file a claim last February during one of our meetings. He got a direct deposit into his checking account for over $9000 for back pay and compensation.

Delivery man and Veteran respects the American Flag. Sent to me by a number of fellow members
The Tucson VA is starting to administer the COVID vaccine to Veterans in certain age groups and medical conditions. A member told me he has a date next week to get his shot.
Let me know if you have any questions before the meeting.
As always, thank you for your service
