Minutes of Meeting May 1, 2023
The meeting started at 1 pm with 53 members and 3 guests in attendance.
New members in attendance for the first time were: Cecilia Pheiffer, Cees DeWidt, Dutch Army, both guests. These guests brought back sand from Normandy beaches which can be had. Mike said we may find a way to display.
The 3 April 2023 meeting minutes were approved as stated. Ian Friedlander and Adolf Fejfar first and seconded the motion respectively and passed unanimously.
Finance Report: Larry Webster
Current Membership is 350
Current bank balance: $5361.29.
Larry announced there are 128 members with paid dues.
Old Business
I want to thank everyone who donated the 50/50 raffle money last month to help purchase patriotic material for quilts for Veterans at the VA Hospital. Total was over $220.
On April 22 there were 17 club members who honored 19 unclaimed Veterans at the Marana Veterans Cemetery ceremony.

If you served in the military between Nov 1955 and May 1975, you are eligible to receive the Vietnam commemorative pin. Award pin/certificate

Meet & Greet This Wednesday, 3:30 at the Views
This is the last meeting Until October 2nd.
Oct Meeting - Veteran Heritage Project (all Veterans) Nicole Blanchard from Ironwood Ridge HS, an advisor with Veteran Heritage Project. She and her students will be looking for approx. 20 Veterans to tell their story to be published in a small book.
Guest speaker – Walter Ram, WWII B-17 radio operator/POW. Walter spoke at length about his missions over occupied Europe and his captivity after being shot down. Walter can be seen at the Air and space museum on Mondays at the B-17 museum.
