Hi all, 1-1
- Keep those personal hygiene items coming and bring them to the Club meeting on Monday. Bring the travel size products you have stashed under the bathroom sink. I've gotten lots of items delivered to my house after 5 days. Member Ian Friedlander has gotten donations from Safeway to purchase $25 worth of products. Check photo attached to this email.
- Do you think we should have a 50/50 drawing at our membership meetings as a fundraiser? Suggested by a member. Yes or No
- Don Coleman, Leslie Monroe, Kate Cusumano and myself put up the US Flags in the Library entrance, Fitness Center and Desert Oasis on Friday, Dec 27. Thanks for your help. They are a welcoming site as you enter the buildings.
- Volunteers are needed for the upcoming 2020 Point-In-Time Count. On Wednesday, January 29th, the Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness will be needing 300+ volunteers to help count the homeless in Tucson, including the number of homeless Veterans. There is a class on Monday, Jan 27th between 6-8 PM to review conduct of the survey questions to be asked. The link above has more information and also the registration to be a volunteer. Include on the registration form to join me and other Veterans club members by listing the "Veterans Club Sun City Oro Valley" as the agency associated with our group. Teams in groups of 4-8 go together and gather the information. We will coordinate a carpool for both the class (Mon, Jan 27th) and the morning of the head count (Wed, Jan 29th). Please let me know if you have registered so I can coordinate carpools and track the number of volunteers from our club. This is a National survey done across the country in January each year.
- 2020 dues of $5 will be collected before next meeting
As always, Thank you for your service
Mike
