Hi all 12-24
As this may be my last email of 2020, I want to thank everyone for their contribution to our club. Either by joining me in an outreach visit, coming to a meeting, volunteering your time and talent or reading my ramblings and not telling me to take you off this email list. 2020 has been a hard year on all of us one way or another. Limited visits with family, smaller gatherings, minimal contact with others. We know next year will be better. Our successes this year have affected less fortunate Veterans with pizza, BBQ pork and donations of much needed clothing, personal hygiene items, furniture, and computers provided by our SCOV community and club. Let's continue to grown, educate, and touch others that need our help, compassion or just for us to sit and listen to their stories. We are making a difference in our community. I hope you have a safe, healthy and joyous holiday.
Next Veterans club meeting is on Monday, Jan 4th at 1pm in the Activity Center Auditorium. Guest speaker Jon Helminiak, an SCOV resident, will review with a power point presentation, his participation of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when he was the lead pilot of 15 C-47 aircraft that flew from the US to France. I hope you will attend.
Veterans Club candidates for 2021 open leadership positions. Since there is only 1 candidate for each position, they will be voted on and approved at the January meeting. If you oppose of any candidate, or want to nominate yourself for a position, please let me know.
