12/30/21
Hi all,
I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas with family and friends and Happy New Year.
Next meeting is Monday, Jan 3rd @ 1pm. Guest speaker is SCOV resident Jon Helminiak. He will present a power point presentation of the re-enactment of the Berlin Airlift flying DC-3s. He previously gave a presentation to the Veteran Club on the re-enactment of the 75th anniversary of the invasion of Europe flying the DC-3.
Happy Hour "Meet & Greet" Friday, Jan 7, 3:30pm at the Views.
The Legacy Brick Walkway has been installed. Come by and find your brick on the cart path between the pickleball courts and The Views Restaurant. Over $18,000 raised in Phase 1 will be shared between 43 SCOV clubs and the SCOV Association. Additional orders for Phase 2 of the Legacy Walkway, which will be installed at a later date, are now being accepted. Click here to get an order form and please sponsor the Veterans Club on the order form. Bring order form and payment to the Welcome Center.
Heads up for late January early February. The Veterans Club will be featured on the cover of the November 2022 Tipster. Installation of the 233 "Legacy Walkway" bricks has been completed. Looking for over 100 Veteran Club members (whether you are an active member or not) to stand in unity along the "Legacy Walkway". It would be great to have members please wear a colored shirt that corresponds with your branch of service (any related shade): ARMY = GREEN, NAVY = NAVY BLUE, AIR FORCE = LIGHT BLUE, MARINES = RED, COAST GUARD = WHITE. I would like to have us line up by branch of service, starting from the parking lot near the pickleball courts. As the time nears, I will let everyone know specific date and time. I appreciate your support in advance.
Arizona offers more Veteran license plates, including some for women.
